Pilates has helped me to transform my body and my life! I commenced with Liz and her team at Revitalize Pilates approximately a year ago. I was 2.5 years into my weight loss journey, and I had lost 58kg (of which 53kg was with WW)! I was at a stage where I wanted to get my fitness up to the next level but was finding it difficult to do anything-high impact due to my arthritic knees and spine. I had commenced jogging a few months earlier and by this stage I was completing 3 times 10km jogs a week. However even though the weight loss had helped me with my knees and back I was still finding my muscles were fatigued and in pain and took a while to recover. I knew I had to do something to strengthen my core to take away the impact on the knees and back and prevent further injuries, hence I thought I’d investigate Pilates and see if that would help.
Since commencing at Revitalize Pilates I’ve been able to get to the next level of fitness I was looking for and have not looked back. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done and wish I had started years ago! It’s not only improved my fitness but my general well-being and day to day life! Liz and her team are fabulous, friendly, fun and very knowledgeable and supportive.
They continue to tailor a program for me on an ongoing basis to suit my changing needs.
Since commencing Pilates I am now:
The strongest, most energetic and fittest I’ve been in my adult life
Using muscles that I never even thought I had
Exercising 6 times a week, approx. 2 – 3 hours each day
Completing my jogs effortlessly with little recovery time
Undertaking dancing lessons which also requires core strength
Have better posture than I’ve ever had
Have lost another 12kg and my body shape has changed and become a lot more toned
This is why I now love Pilates so much and am so passionate about it…I just couldn’t imagine my life without it now!
